I miss my father (another anti-AI post)
In 2011 I lost my father to a neurological disorder he had been suffering from most of my life.
Happy Father’s Day, dad!
You turned me into a curious lover of technology and techno-optimist as I dreamed of ways technology could be used to ease your suffering and bring joy to our world.
Unfortunately, despite a few people doing powerful things with technology, it turns out meaningless garbage that makes our lives shitty pays a lot more and soulless losers in Silicon Valley have made our material conditions worse with their tech economy.
I’m sorry you’re not alive to at least play (or watch me play) some of the awesome video games humans have made in the past 15 years you’ve been gone.
They are using your suffering to say AI is enabling disabled people to create, but you were creative, brilliant, and artistic even as your disability worsened over time.
Happy Father’s Day. I miss YOU! (And I would sooner face a firing squad than insult your life by using tech to reanimate you)
