What does resistance look like to you?
How does meaningful change happen when the people in power who are supposed to act on behalf of the powerless consistently fail to do so?
The complicity of those with power and influence (and capital) cannot be understated. There are absolutely people with power and money who could make a change and choose every day not to.
They are cowards. Fear drives their actions. Fear of losing their power and position in society. Even though many have millions in the bank to carry them for generations.
Benefitting from this system while pretending to be disapproving of it.
Of course, those committing atrocious acts are the greatest to blame and must be brought to justice. But we cannot dismiss all the many people at the top failing to take action. Rolling out the red carpet for this abuse of power. Even those sworn in to represent and protect the people.
Are politicians supposed to act on behalf of their constituents? No, they only act on behalf of the highest paid ones. And those are the greatest cowards of them all. Their money and influence was gained through great sociopathy. Deep down they know it, despite calling it a meritocracy.
Condemned are those with the curse of empathy. You won’t make it very far if you stop to help someone else up along the way.
In this environment, what does resistance look like?
